Vehicle inspection applies to the following vehicles types :

1) Private Touristic Cars

2) Taxis

3) Motorcycles

4) AutoBuses

5) Trucks

6) Special Usage Vehicles (Concrete Mixers, Towing Trucks, Refrigerated Vehicles)

7) Collection Cars



1) Private Touristic Cars :

General and Technical requirements :

- Vehicles owners are required to present the original Vehicle Identification Card of the vehicle to be inspected.

- The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:
  • Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.

  • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis.
  • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
  • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
  • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements.

  • 2)Taxis :

    General and Technical requirements :

    - Vehicles owners are required to present the original Vehicle Identification Card of the vehicle to be inspected.

    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:

    • Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.
    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements.
  • The Taxi driver plate must be made from copper and on which is printed the driver's name, address, vehicle type, Vehicle Identification Number, this information must match the data printed on the vehicle identification card.




  • Seat Belts must be compliant and work properly.
  • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
  • Windshield Wipers must be compliant and work properly.
  • Front Windshield Glass must have no cracks over 30 cm.
  • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly.
  • Horn must work properly.
  • Tires must be in good condition with no bulges.

  • 3) Motorcycles :

    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:

    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements.
    • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
    • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly.
    • Horn must work properly.
    • Tires must be in good condition with no bulges.
    • Efficiency of hand and park brakes must be good enough.
    • Fuel Filler Cap must lock tightly.
    • The Exhaust system must be well fixed with no excessive smokes escaping from it.
    4) AutoBuses :

    General and Technical requirements :

    - Vehicles owners are required to present the original Vehicle Identification Card of the vehicle to be inspected.
    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:

    Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.

    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle. For diesel engine powered vehicles the number of seats, inclusive of the driver seat, must be at least 26.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements.
    • Seat Belts must be compliant and work properly.
    • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
    • Windshield Wipers must be compliant and work properly.
    • Front Windshield Glass must have no cracks over 30 cm.
    • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly. If the vehicles length is over 6 meters SideLights must be present and work synchronously with other corresponding lights.
    • Horn must work properly.
    • Tires must be in good condition with no bulges.
    • Efficiency brakes must be good enough.
    • Fuel Filler Cap must lock tightly.
    • The Exhaust system must be well fixed with no excessive smokes escaping from it.
    • Weight Identification Plate must be well attached to the vehicle's chassis and should mention the total weight and the load weight.
    5) Trucks:

    General and Technical requirements :

    - Vehicles owners are required to present the original Vehicle Identification Card of the vehicle to be inspected.
    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:
    • Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.
    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis. This applies to both the pulling and the attached chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements. A plate must be present on both the pulling and the attached chassis and both plates are lit.
    • Seat Belts must be compliant and work properly.
    • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
    • Windshield Wipers must be compliant and work properly.
    • Front Windshield Glass must have no cracks over 30 cm.
    • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly. If the vehicles length is over 6 meters SideLights must be present and work synchronously with other corresponding lights.

    6) Special Usage Vehicles (Concrete Mixers, Towing Trucks, Refrigerated Vehicles):

    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:
    • Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.
    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis. This applies to both the pulling and the attached chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements. The Vehicle Identification Plate must be fixed at the back of the vehicle and not at the back of the driver's compartment.
    • Seat Belts must be compliant and work properly.
    • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
    • Windshield Wipers must be compliant and work properly.
    • Front Windshield Glass must have no cracks over 30 cm.
    • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly. If the vehicles length is over 6 meters SideLights must be present and work synchronously with other corresponding lights.
    • Horn must work properly.
    • Tires must be in good condition with no bulges.

    7) Collection Cars:

    General and Technical requirements :

    - Vehicles owners are required to present the original Vehicle Identification Card of the vehicle to be inspected.
    - The vehicle identification card should comply to the following requirements, else the owner should report to the Vehicle Registration Office (NAFAA) to correct the information before presenting the vehicle at an inspection center:
    • Vehicle Identification Card should be machine printed and not hand-written.
    • Chassis number printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the chassis number engraved on the vehicle's chassis. This applies to both the pulling and the attached chassis.
    • The Number of seats printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the number of seats physically present in the vehicle.
    • Vehicle's Color printed on the Vehicle Identification Card must match the actual vehicle's body color.
    • Vehicle Identification Plate must be in good condition with no special signs and compliant to official prototypes and legal requirements.
    • Seat Belts must be compliant and work properly, only in the case they were installed initially by the manufacturer.
    • Rearview mirror must be compliant and work properly.
    • Windshield Wipers must be compliant and work properly.
    • Front Windshield Glass must have no cracks over 30 cm.
    • HeadLights, Flashing Lights, Trun Signals, Braking Lights, License Plate Lights, Rear Lights must all work properly. In the case the vehicle was not fitted with a flasher by the manufacturer a warning triangle must be installed by the owner




    • Horn must work properly.
    • Tires must be in good condition with no bulges.
    • Efficiency brakes must be good enough.
    • Fuel Filler Cap must lock tightly.
    • The Exhaust system must be well fixed with no excessive smokes escaping from it.
    • Weight Identification Plate must be well attached to the vehicle's chassis and should mention the total weight and the load weight.
